"FAREWELL TO SKYSCRAPERS!" - II by Oksana Chepelyk

Concept -- Oksana Chepelyk Camera -- Grygoriy Kysil', Igor Pun Music -- "Search for Naked Forms" by Stanza Director & producer -- Oksana Chepelyk Production -- UCLA (Ukraine/USA) "FAREWELL TO SKYSCRAPERS!" art intervention by artist Oksana Chepelyk realized Oct 2, 2010 on Andriyivsky Uzviz in Kiev with the release of a large number of Chinese paper lanterns in the form of skyscrapers within the International Festival "The Street of the Game, The Games on the Street" (the Dialogue of Socio-Cultural Reconstruction of Andriyivsky Uzviz) supported by Goethe Institute in Ukraine. These blow away in the Kiev night sky, allowing us to see on a more poetic note the calm beauty while reflecting on how real-estate speculation affect to our daily lives. BIOGRAPHY Oksana Chepelyk 1978-1984 studied Art in Kiev, 1986-1988 in Moscow, 1995 at CIES in Paris, 1996 at Amsterdam University 2003-2004 at UCLA, USA. Residencies: 1996 CREDAC, Paris, 1998 BANFF Centre, Canada, 2001 ARTELEKU, San Sebastian, Spain, FACT, Liverpool, UK, 2000-2002 Bauhaus Dessau, Germany. 1992-2010 awarded with grants in France, Germany, Spain, USA, Canada, England and Sweden.
